Day 2

Last we saw of Blue he had recently acquired his first Pokémon, a Mudkip named Kuruk and a pair of running shoes. Now he heads towards his first gym and all other kinds of shenanigans in-between!

  • 1st things first let's catch a Zigzagoon! Reminder, Blue is of the Southern Water Tribe and therefore he can only catch Water, Ice, Grass, Poison, & Normal type Pokémon. Zigzagoon is Normal type and makes the perfect 1st addition to Team Avatar!
    • Blue caught his 1st Pokémon! A Zigzagoon named Sokka due to the fact that this Zigzagoon is also a boy and he is not water type or any special type AKA he is not a "bender"

  • Remember that rule if a Pokémon faints he is dead? Me too… Luckily no one is dead yet! Hopefully it stays that way.
    • *Runs back to mom to heal Kuruk & Sokka*
  • Time to train Sokka!
    • Sokka's first fight vs. a lvl 2 Poochyena is a success! Too bad Poochyena's are Dark type so Blue can't catch one…
    • Blue Can't catch Wurmple's either…
    • Sokka levels up to level 4!
    • Level 5 & Sokka learned Tail Whip! A move that lowers opponents defense stat.
  • Somewhere in the training / healing sessions Sokka picked up a Nugget! Better deposit that in the PC yo.
    • Sokka's special ability is "Pickup" which as defined by the game means "May pick up items" AKA walking around with Sokka in the team means he will randomly acquire items as Blue walks around. How he does this from a Pokéball is still a mystery…

  • More training! Don't want anyone dying on the team!
    • Very tempting to catch more Zigzagoons since they are the only Pokémon Blue can catch but I don't really want more than one type of a Pokémon in team avatar… hmmm….
    • Sokka becomes level 6.
    • Sokka picked up a Rare Candy! These things are pretty rare and will level up any Pokémon automatically when used. Better heal Team Avatar / deposit the Rare Candy.
Rare Candy
  • More training.
    • Sokka is now lvl 7! In the process he got to about 1/2 HP (health points) which was scary…
    • Time to train Kuruk now that both Sokka and Kuruk are lvl 7.
    • Kuruk levels up to lvl 8!
  • Nerdy footprint guy was sketching his own footprints by mistake…
    • Luckily this means I can head west Again!
    • Speaking of which, here is a map of The Hoenn Region. Currently Blue is at Oldale Town, & he started his adventure in Littleroot Town. The new plan is to head west on route 102 to Petalburg City!
Hoenn Map

  • Grinding (Training to level up) against wild Pokémon so that when Blue faces trainers no one from Team Avatar dies.
  • Blue caught a level 3 Seedot and named him Tho after the Foggy Swamp water bender. Seedot is grass type however it's evolutions, Nuzleaf & Shiftry, are also dark type. Therefore, poor Tho will never get to evolve…
Seedot

Tho (A:TLA)

    • Tho has no immediate attacking moves (Only knows Bide and Harden ATM) so grinding is a little difficult for him… especially since Team Avatar can't afford for him to die… yet… Luckily he has his good pals Sokka and Kuruk to help him along!
  • More grinding.
    • Tho becomes level 4
    • Sokka levels up to level 8
    • Tho levels to level 5
    • Tho lvl 6
    • Tho lvl 7 & learned Growth (A move that raises social attack stat)
    • Kuruk lvl 9
  • Scary moment! Time to face a trainer! IT'S ON BUG CATCHER RICK!!!!!
    • Tho defeats his 1st Pokémon on his own! With only 8 HP to spare, Blue switches Tho out for Sokka.
  • Team Avatar makes it out in one piece! *phew*

  • More Grinding.
    • Tho lvl 8
    • Tho lvl 9
    • Sokka lvl 9 & learned Headbutt! (A normal type attack that may cause flinching in the opponent)
Well this is where I will call it a night. Here is an overview of the pokémon that compose Team Avatar.
Kuruk
  1. Kuruk, Mudkip, Water type, lvl 9.
    1. Tackle (Normal attack)
    2. Growl (Lowers opponents attack stat)

  2. Sokka, Zigzagoon, Normal type, lvl 9.
    1. Tackle
    2. Growl
    3. Tail Whip (Lowers opponents defense stat)
    4. Headbutt

Day 1

Starting the journey on this lone summer night! A lot of exciting things are going to happen. I will discover what my starter will be based off of I.D. number and who knows what else could happen.

  • First things first the character is a boy named blue (short for blue spirit from Avatar: The Last Airbender)
  • Woohoo moving into new house! I'd reset the clock but APPARENTLY the "Internal battery has run dry" for this game. It says I can play the game fine but no time based events will happen. I'm assuming / hoping the major bummer for this will be no growing berry trees...

  • A little early to check, I know, but I just can't wait to see what starter I get! Before I look at my trainer I.D. remember that if it ends in a 1-3 I get Grass, 4-6 I get Fire and 7-9 is Water. But that doesn't NECESSARILY decide which nation I am in because if my starter evolves into having an element that coincides with another nation, I will make an exception for that pokémon since all of the starters evolve into 2 type pokémon in this game. ANYWAYS... drum roll please… my trainer I.D. is 14268! Mudkip it is!
Mudkip
  • Well then I am assuming some of you knew this already but Blue's mom won't let him leave till Blue sets the clock which is pointless but whatever! I'll be honest, it is 2:21 am right now.
  • Blue withdrew that secret potion already in item storage. silly Nintendo you can't hide that from me.
  • Damn it! missed Dad on TV.

  • Looking for Prof. Birch but apparently the daughter is upstairs.

  • Her name is May? More like MAI! am I right or am I right?!?

  • Ugh this guy is a prof. and he can't handle a level 2 Poochyena? Like seriously how did he earn his professor title? Whatever, the gods have already decided Mudkip for Blue!
  • Oh boy! time to name this Mudkip! but 1st I gotta decide if I want to be Water tribe or Earth Kingdom… Mudkip eventually evolves into Swampert which is Water / Ground type so TECHNICALLY I can be either Water tribe or Earth Kingdom… I think We all know the right choice. Or at least I know which one I want!

  • This is actually gonna be kinda annoying until I get a decent fishing rod…
  • So now that Water Tribe is decided (ps it's southern tribe) It's time for a name! I want to name all of Blue's pokémon after great Water Tribe characters / general Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra (from now on they will be affectionately abbreviated as A:TLA / LoK) characters. Anyways, please welcome the first hero of the team, Kuruk! Named after the water bending avatar before Aang / Korra.
    • Side note, the Mudkip is a boy so I had to pick a boys name
Avatar Kuruk (A:TLA)

  • On the hunt for May (from now on she will be referred to as Mai because Mai > May. & because the whole point of this is too cross A:TLA / LoK with Pokémon as much as possible! whatever I "Don't hate" Mai)
  • First "real" battle is vs. a Zigzagoon!
    • So is the 2nd.
  • Kuruk is level 6!
    • Kuruk Learned Mudslap! This is a weak ground type attack that also lowers accuracy.
  • Blue enters Oldale Town.
    • starting to wish I had pokéballs so I could start to train other team members AKA Zigzagoons since they are the only pokémon I can catch right now whose types fit into the water tribe…
  • Pokémon Mart lady gave Blue a free potion. How nice!
  • Apparently Blue can't go west out of town yet… some nerdy guy has to sketch pokémon tracks or something. North it is!
Found Mai / commenced battle.

  • Blue won!
    • Kuruk levels up to level 7

  •  Blue went back home to Littleroot town and received the Pokédex / some pokéballs from The Prof. & Mai
    • *Whispers* Too bad I won't "Catch 'em all"
  • Blue Receives Running Shoes from his mother / she wishes him good luck on his journey.

Well this looks like a good place too call it a night. Writing / playing at the same time takes a long time.

FYI I found gifs / memes / pictures all over the internet and even made one myself so apologies if I used your image and somehow that offends you. Goodnight! - Dragon

Rules

I'll start by posting the rules that I will be following
  1. Starter pokémon is decided by trainer I.D. (If I.D. ends in 1-3 = grass, 4-6 = fire, 7-9 = water)
  2. If a pokémon faints it is considered dead and can no longer be used
  3. Each nation can only use 4 types of pokémon and normal type. The nations are…
    1. Air Nomad
      1. Flying
      2. Psychic
      3. Ghost
      4. Bug
    2. Water Tribe
      1. Water
      2. Ice
      3. Grass
      4. Poison
    3. Fire Nation
      1. Fire
      2. Electric
      3. Dark
      4. Dragon
    4. Earth Kingdom
      1. Rock
      2. Ground
      3. Steel
      4. Fight
  4. If a pokémon has two types they must both fall into the nations (for example normal / flying types can only be used by Air Nomads even though normal type can be used by all four nations)
    1. Starter pokémon may fall into 2 separate nations as long as one type remains in the nation
So those are the rules! The character will be named Blue (in honor of the Blue Spirit from Avatar: The Last Airbender) I hope that anyone who finds this blog will enjoy what comes of it! - Dragon
